At Don Whitley Scientific (DWS), we are proud of our strong history of collaborations with leading institutions and companies, which have proved to be instrumental in developing innovative solutions. We have partnered with companies such as Seahorse Bioscience, Sartorius, and ECHO.
Seahorse Bioscience
DWS had the opportunity to work with Seahorse Bioscience during the creation of the Whitley i2 Instrument Workstation. The workstation was developed in response to a rising number of enquiries from scientists who wanted to use Seahorse Extracellular Flux (XF) Analyzers in hypoxic conditions and were dissatisfied with the solutions available. Rather than adapting an existing tissue culture incubator for this purpose, DWS developed a new tissue culture incubator, specifically to suit the precise requirements of Seahorse Bioscience.
Extensive research was crucial during the development of the i2, as this helped achieve a modular system that includes a number of novel and unique features.
DWS collaborated with Sartorius to fulfil a bespoke request for a customer, which involved placing an Incucyte® SX5 Live-Cell Analysis System inside a Whitley H35 Hypoxystation. The aim of this project was to allow the customer to observe the cells as they develop, and capture images of them during the process. This created a much simpler way of understanding the cellular changes and their growth patterns.
Echo
DWS worked with Echo to install a Cellcyte 1 inside a Whitley H135 Hypoxystation. Similar to our collaboration with Sartorius, the customer wanted to use a live cell viewer to capture the process of cell development. This setup proved to be highly successful as it was intended to be used by multiple groups; an approach that we always encourage for customers on a budget.
DWS is always delighted to form new partnerships as it gives us the chance to integrate innovative strategies and create solutions that meet our customers’ unique needs. This approach allows us to bring our customers' visions to life whilst providing us with new ideas for future projects and potential improvements.
