Workstation Delivery

A Whitley A35 Workstation was recently installed by Alex Simpson at Fixed Phage Ltd. The workstation will be used to isolate anaerobic animal pathogens and bacteriophages that can target them for antimicrobial treatments.

Fixed Phage are bacteriophage specialists based in Glasgow, Scotland, using bacteriophages to target bacterial problems. These are combined with innovative technology that allows the bacteriophages to adhere to almost any surface and remove detrimental bacteria, without disrupting the microbiome in a wide variety of environments. Fixed Phage currently have applications in animal health, harvest, and human health. Recently, Fixed Phage had commenced several projects in the application of bacteriophages in anaerobic environments.

After successfully using the Whitley A25 Workstation for 12 months, Fixed Phage found our workstation useful to hit key project milestones and they upgraded to the Whitley A35 Workstation, with internal power sockets and Anaerobic Conditions Monitoring (including data logging and catalyst monitoring). Dr Gordon Smith, Senior Scientist at Fixed Phage, kindly pointed out how fantastic our patented Instant Access Portholes were. Dr Smith also stated, “I find Don Whitley Scientific a really good company to buy from and really appreciate the continued support offered. The refurbished workstation was of good quality and easy to use and we had no hesitation in contacting Don Whitley Scientific when we needed an anaerobic cabinet upgrade as more projects came online.”

Thank you to Dr Gordon Smith and to Fixed Phage for allowing us to take photographs and supplying us with a testimonial.
